Three hares in a 'protective' circle.

£43.00 GBP

The three hares all share part of the colour of the hare before in beautiful ripple acrylics that have a subtle glitter running through. Legs intertwined and ears touching they complete a Triquetra.

64mm circumference.

The hare is loved in folklore, particularly in Scotland, where it was believed witches could transform into hares to evade capture or perform mischief.

The Witch’s Hare.

By moonlit moor and haunted glen,
There darts a hare from witches' den.
With eyes aglow and swift as air,
It weaves the night with cunning care.

A creature born of spell and flame,
No common beast, nor wild, nor tame.
The witch’s hand, with whispered lore,
Did shape this form forevermore.

She leaps through shadows, silent, sly,
As others cast their charms nearby.
No hound can chase, no hunter’s snare,
Can catch the swift and witch-born hare.

In fur of dusk, it carries fate,
A bringer of the witch’s slate.
For curses ride upon its track,
And none who see it dare look back.

So heed the lore of ancient air,
Beware the gaze of the witch’s hare! TMCx
