Marcellus the Octopus - Necklace
£49.00 GBP
A wee nod to Shelby van Pelt as Marcellus was made and named after I read her fab book Remarkably Bright Creatures.
This is truly a spectacular piece which, surprisingly, is only over two layers. The base layer is a deep cherry ripple that peeks out from behind the deep purple ripple top. The convoluting twists and turns of the tentacles gives clever dimensions, leaving the colourful mirrored acrylics to reflect and dazzle as they 'sucker' you in.
It's definitely tonal in nature, as is the real thing and changes in the blink of an eye from dark deep depth to come alive in the light.
Also made as a brooch
